Communities against Terrorism, an FBI and Homeland Security initiative helps define the kind of people whom the Obama regime consider a threat. A flyer distributed by these agencies identifies the following signs of a potential terrorist:

Anonymizers

Portals

Other means to shield IP addresses

The use of encryption

Steganography,

Simply put, only terrorists want to be free.

YOU Endanger the Status Quo

The flyer paid for by money seized from working Americans says that anyone who seems excessively concerned about privacy and human rights will require careful scrutiny. After all, no one wants to keep their activities veiled unless they have something to hide that the Obama regime needs to know about. This means that you threaten the State if you use Tor, VPNs, anonymizers or proxies to keep your private business private.

Businesses as an Arm of the State

The complicity of business with the oppression of the American people continues to trouble those who love freedom. FBI and Homeland Security agents now distribute offensive flyers to businesses that instruct them to alert authorities if they see anyone using their Constitutional right to privacy.

Businesses obviously comply with American tyranny because they need to operate and earn money. Besides, if one business stands against Obama, other businesses will step in to fill the void. No one wants to stand against the federal regime because everyone knows they will stand alone. The immoral and unprincipled society we now have probably threatens our freedom more than the Obama regime ever could by itself.

A German security analyst revealed that almost all GSM cellphone handsets are vulnerable to malicious exploits.

GSM networks, cell phones are subject to hacking attacks.

Cellphones running on popular GSM wireless networks around the globe are vulnerable to hijacking attempts, a German security expert says. Although T-mobile ranks as the most secure GSM network in the U.S., other networks have no security measures that can limit exploits against GSM phones. About 80 percent of the world’s cell phones run on GSM, although – in the U.S. – new networks such as CDMA have become predominant.

Americans who travel to other countries often choose GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile because they can use their phones on foreign networks. Though they might be able to use their phone as-is in other countries, they can also buy SIM cards that allow their phones to connect to local wireless networks without paying expensive international roaming charges.

Chalk up another victory for tyranny and another defeat for The Constitution of the United States of America. A bill declaring the USA a battleground passed by the Republican-led House of Representatives and by the Democrat-led Senate now rests on the President’s desk. Obama says he will sign it.

Democrats and Republicans on Same Page

Those who say little difference exists between Republicans and Democrats should take heart. Although each chamber is led by a different party, both chambers passed the same bill.

The new defense authorization bill empowers the military to arrest any American citizen suspected of being associated with a terrorist plot. These arrests require no warrants and no judicial oversights. Those labeled by government officials as suspects will promptly be ushered into the Guantanamo Bay prison camp Obama was supposed to have closed.

Apparently the torture camp that was too abhorrent to house foreign terrorists is good enough to house U.S. political prisoners and religious dissidents.

Obama Gets His Way

Obama briefly feigned anger over the measure that circumvents the Constitutional rights of Americans. Now, word has come out that Obama is the one who demanded the indefinite detention provision.

The slippery slope of the Patriot Act is now apparent to all, yet no one is willing to put an end to its abuses.

U.S. Citizens are not Combatants

By declaring that the USA is a battleground, American citizens have been officially designated as combatants. Presumed innocence has been replaced with presumed guilt. Americans no longer have a right to a fair trial; they have no right to anything except a spot in a prison camp.

Even Al Jazeera Knows

Al Jazeera, the Islamic news service called out the indefinite detention bill, unlike American new media.

Don’t Trust the Government

Although precious little Lindsey Graham and Senator John McCain claim the law will be used only to detain people who have plotted against the U.S. Government (the U.S. Government has a right to exist and must be preserved. After all, it has all the moral and Constitutional authority it needs – not!)

The question isn’t whether bad guys should be detained. The question is, “Should the government be trusted to decide who gets to go to prison and who doesn’t?” This type of thing happens in China; it will soon be the law here.

Do you think that the government that lies to you thousands 0f times every day will police itself to make sure that only genuine threats are arrested? The new law is a tool that plays into the totalitarian hands of any U.S. head of state and should never have passed either house.

Iran hacked into a U.S. drone spy plane and reprogrammed its GPS coordinates to make it think it was landing in Afghanistan when it really landed in Iran.

We Told You So

Classified Information reported in October that the U.S. aerial drone fleet was suffering from widespread virus infections that commanders flippantly discounted. At that time, the U.S. already knew that Islamic hackers could watch spy drone video in real time. All they needed was a back door to take control over the drones’ internals (a.k.a. a virus).

Christian Science Monitor released a preliminary report that helps document how Iran changed the drone’s GPS system coordinates to make it land in the wrong place. (Though the article makes clear that Iran hacked the drone’s system, it evades the virus issue.)

What happens when you ASS-ume

The U.S. military-political complex funneled dozens of billions of dollars into the drone program, only to assume the enemy was incapable of hacking computers and manipulating GPS.

Just as the U.S. got burned from the un-encrypted video signals used by the drones, it got burned by its failure to harden the drone’s software controls.

Iran has again proved that its capability to wage electronic warfare isw much more sophisticated than the political-industrial complex believed.

Where in the World?

A 2003 report published from Los Alamos documented vulnerabilities of the GPS system. It explained how GPS signals could be replaced, leaving almost the entire world vulnerable to malicious attacks.

This technology is expected to fall into the hands of criminals who can re-route trucks, airliners and armored cars. After Iran perfects the technology (it seems awful close to perfection now), any two-bit foreign country that shares Iran’s ideology can wreak havoc on U.S. military planes, ships, trucks and soldiers.

Thanks Obama, Bush, Clinton, et. al.

Now that Iran has our mega-billion dollar drone and its accompanying technology on hand, expect that nation to share it with the Russians and the Chinese. What cost the U.S. hundreds of billions of dollars in money borrowed from China is now accessible to China for pennies.

This situation is eerily similar to the way Democrat President Bill Clinton gave away U.S. missile technology via Loral Space in exchange for campaign contributions.

Clinton also sold almost every other defense secret to the Chinese to get campaign cash.

As a result … Beijing’s strategic nuclear capabilities were catapulted from 1950s-style technology, to being “on a par” with America’s, in just a few years.

The Bottom Line

Here’s the problem: The U.S. worker gets raped by the government every payday to help keep the industrial-military complex awash in cash. After spending hundreds of billions of dollars enriching the U.S. Power Elite class with that money, the U.S. either:

Plays fast and loose with its technology and lets it slip into the public domain, or

Allows foreign hackers to access government and corporate computer systems so other countries can learn to interpret and apply our technologies, or

Sells it to our enemies (and creditors) for fresh infusions of campaign funds and other goodies.

Of course, the bottom line is this: Classified Information called out this drone problem months ago. Months later, the world that does not read Classified Information now knows.

UPDATE: as reported by Fox News, Iran has captured a live, operational U.S. drone. How did they do it? With a virus, of course. We warned you about this a couple months ago. You read it here on October 22, 2011. You’ll listen to us next time!

(Originally published at ClassifiedInformation on October 22, 2011)

Recent news reports show that the government’s problem with viruses and computer security permeate the military all the way into the famous drone program used to terminate live targets around the world. They know for a fact that the virus infecting the drones has accessed classified information, but they have failed to find ways to eradicate the threat.

“We keep wiping it off, and it keeps coming back,” says a source familiar with the network infection, one of three that told Danger Room about the virus. “We think it’s benign. But we just don’t know.”

The news is the latest that calls into question the cozy relationship between hackers and the U.S. Government.

A not-so-good feeling

The infection the Air Force drone program faces seems more severe than what private individuals face. Sure, keyloggers compromise bank account numbers, passwords and private information every day. Still, the average computer user does not use keystrokes to obliterate U.S. citizens in the wilderness of Yemen, or various foreign entities in Libya, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq and wherever else the Obama regime decides to kill people.

secret data may have been captured by the keylogger, and then transmitted over the public internet to someone outside the military chain of command.

The problem is worse than simple classified information being leaked to terrorists. Those in possession of the cockpit keystrokes now know how to fly our drones.

Ho-hum… Nothing to worry about

In light of the virus threat, no one seems too worried about it. The lackadaisical attitude of the staffers at Creech Air Force Base in Nevada where the drone pilots work is amazing.

“It’s getting a lot of attention,” the source says. “But no one’s panicking. Yet.”

Why would anyone panic? We already have terrorists watching live video from US drones. Now these drones have viruses that send keystrokes to the terrorists. This means the terrorists know how to fly them. That means terrorists could hijack drones and use them to attack us. How could a military officer discourage panic under these circumstances?

A lack of resources?

Most people dealing with an infected personal computer would probably visit the website of an antivirus provider for help removing their virus. Did you know the the U.S. Air Force does it the same way?

At first, they followed removal instructions posted on the website of the Kaspersky security firm.

Here we probably have billions of dollars invested in a state-of-the-art assassination system and the solution to a security breach is a visit to the Kaspersky help pages?

Let’s hope this is disinformation

Seeing that the military seems unconcerned about the vulnerability of the drone program, we can only hope the news is fake. News from Wired that terrorists (and presumably, China) can see drone video in real time and pilot drones from remote keyboards should concern every one of us. It probably will after rogue forces use our own drones against us… if we we ever found out about it.

The sinking ship called The Constitution of the United States of America took on more water after the U.S. Senate approved a measure that allows the military to detain Americans without a warrant and without a trial. Under this incredible bill, the entire USA is declared a battle zone. Americans who anonymously browse the Internet or hold unpopular political or religious views could be put in jail faster than the can say “Uncle Sam.”

Found in the National Defense Authorization Bill Act (S.1867), the military gains the authority to detain Americans at will under the so-called “worldwide indefinite detention without charge or trial” clause. Despite being blatantly unconstitutional, the bill has robust support in the senate.

Legislative backing for tyranny

Big names including heavyweight Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, John McCain of Arizona and Carl Levin of Michigan support the illegal measure, giving Americans one more reason to fear their government. Vice President Joe Biden has also declared support for the oppressive measure.

They do it like this in China

Effectively reversing the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, this new Act makes it lawful (but not Constitutional) for the President to put Americans in jail without cause. This means anyone from political dissenters to possessors of 100-watt light bulbs could disappear in the middle of the day, just like they do in China.

Beyond murder

We already know that the Obama regime is willing to murder American citizens at will overseas, now they are fair game within the borders of their formerly-free country. The military soon can arrest anyone in the USA like it does in Afghanistan. People arrested need only be deemed a domestic threat, and they will never be seen or heard from again.

The Department of Homeland Security has already classified people as domestic terrorists for owning a gun, using binoculars, buying gold, spending cash and donating to charity; the new law will allow the government to act on those assessments.

Americans warned years ago

Readers of the website Infowars.com already knew of the plans to use the military to oppress American citizens. As far back as the 1990s, Alex Jones reported that domestic arrests were part of military training.

Attempt to make the law less-illegal

Senator Mark Udall of Colorado has sponsored an amendment to the illegal bill that would moderate the effects of the new illegal detention provisions of the defense authorization. Even if the Udall amendment passes, the nation faces serious violations of their Constitutional and human rights.

In a shameless display of police-state mentality, government lawyers argued before the Supreme Court saying the government has the right to use GPS tracking to follow anyone and everyone. After all, they said, the government can always physically follow people and get the same result.

The only difference is GPS can track millions of people at once; surveillance can only track a few at most.

A growing number of cases involve government’s use of technology to oppress the people. Technology is used from everything to seize PayPal account information to arresting hackers. Here it was used to destroy a man’s life.

Hello Fourth Amendment

In a more sane historical period, the Supreme Court would reject the government’s arguments out of hand because they are out of hand.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated; and no Warrants shall issue but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Arguments that technology does the same thing as physical government agents fails because technology is in this case and in others to violate the constitutional rights of Americans. The fourth Amendment means the government cannot lawfully troll through the population or through people’s lives to find out when somebody does something the government doesn’t like.

About the case

Without a warrant, during 2005, the Washington D.C. police and the FBI conspired to attach a GPS tracking device to belonging to Antoine Jones while it was parked in a lot. Although the police had obtained a warrant to install the device, that warrant had expired before police installed the GPS device.

Also, the warrant stipulated the device would be attached to the car in D.C., but the police did it while the car was in Maryland.

For about a month, the FBI and the police tracked Jones as he visited several locations of ill-repute and finally arrested him based on his supposed intent to distribute narcotics.

Justifying the illegal

The illegal activity of the police and FBI was admitted into federal court, but only the GPS data taken from Jones’ car while on public streets. Jones was convicted on the evidence and sentenced to life in prison.

Shock: Appeals Court affirms right to privacy

Jones appealed his case and won. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit said that Jones had a reasonable expectation of privacy while he was in his car. Therefore, the court said the police should not have used the tracking device without a valid warrant.

On to the Supreme Court

Unhappy with the random act of justice perpetrated by the Court of Appeals, the Obama regime’s Justice Department took the case to the Supreme Court. The court agreed to hear the case in June 2011, and heard arguments in November, 2011.

Why this is important

Many people don’t have a problem with a supposed thug going to jail for the rest of his life because he sold drugs. Therefore many don’t have a problem with Jones’ Fourth Amendment rights being trampled on by the American Police State. However, when the shoe is on the other foot, the same people who would let Jones rot in prison would be crying foul.

GPS devices could be installed on anyone’s car at any time, leaving citizens vulnerable. Furthermore, the government has banned the rights of Americans to defend themselves against GPS violations. However, the government can jam GPS signals.

The fact that Jones’ rights were violated have no bearing on whether he committed a crime. The government must be forced to honor the Constitution. When it ignores the Constitution, it should be corrected and restrained. Otherwise, it will continue to spiral out of control without any restraint at all.

The Supreme Court will issue its decision in 2012.

GM doesn’t tell drivers that its OnStar assistance service doubles as a privacy-invading revenue producer, but it should. It should advertise how it surreptitiously steals personal and vehicle data from cars and sells it to police and other bidders without the consent of GM owners. Using its built-in electronics, OnStar profits from status information from GM cars even when drivers do not subscribe to the service. This is not the first time Big Brother and Big Corporations joined forces to betray consumers.

Terms and Conditions

At first, OnStar promised to only collect location information and other details from subscribers as a result of a theft or other emergency. The company recently updated those terms to give it the right to collect and sell information from any car equipped with OnStar without the owner’s knowledge, even without a subscription.

Calling Big Brother… Come In Please…

Onstar now can give information about vehicle speed, seat belt use, ravel habits and other information to police who will gladly intercept drivers at any location to write them a ticket. Insurance companies will love to know about drivers who commute further than they admit and never use a seatbelt. Thanks to OnStar’s greed and willful violation of the public trust, insurance rates for thousands of drivers can surreptitiously increase. According to blogger Jonathan Zdziarski, these new terms are just the tip of the iceberg.

You are Warned

Every GM driver equipped with OnStar should visit their dealer to have OnStar either disabled or removed. . If you don’t your wallet and your liberty could be impaired.

Just remember, when you finally realize that big corporations and Big Brother all know where you are and what you are doing, you read about it here.

Obama gets more than his money's worth as his ultra-wealthy supporters from the technology industry spy

Obama gets more than his money’s worth as his ultra-wealthy supporters from the technology industry spy for him using their <del>traps</del> Internet apps. Lured to Google for practical Internet searches, Internet users supply Google with personal information the company uses to sell advertising, but it also furnishes information about its users directly to the Obama regime. Dittos for Facebook and Twitter.

… the vast amount of personal information that companies like Google collect to run their businesses has become simply too valuable for police and governments to ignore, delegates to the Internet Governance Forum in Nairobi said.

The disturbing trend of government intrusion worsens in light of the troubling ease with which these companies hand over information they collect to the government.

In light of recent revelations that Facebook has implanted spyware onto nearly 1 billion users’ computers, the government can find out almost anything about a Facebook user just by texting Mark Zuckerberg.

No recourse

Reuters is quick to point out that a gross lack of accountability means that the government acts without restraint. It also means that victims of this government abuse have no way to pursue their claims against the government.

While U.S. courts are obliged to publish reports on wire-tapping of telephone lines, no similar information is required to be made public with respect to the Internet — which grew up after the laws on electronic communications were passed.

Privacy advocate Christopher Soghoian says that the government now uses private firms to spy on citizens at virtually zero cost. With that kind of price tag on millions of people and zero accountability, it’s not surprising government spying has soared to unheard of levels.

What about the Constitution?

Congressman Ron Paul told the nation during a GOP debate in Florida that he would veto every bill that was unconstitutional. A stunned moderator and stunned candidates were stupefied. Somewhere deep inside most Americans is the knowledge that the Constitution of the United Stats of America doesn’t amount to a hill of beans in daily practice. However, the USA is a Constitutional Republic. That means that people have rights regardless of the illegal behavior of their government. Every time the Obama regime asks its buddies at Google, Facebook and Twitter to hand over information on American citizens, it violates the Fourth Amendment.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Does this matter? Of course it matters, especially when you are the target.

What about the Fifth Amendment?

Depending on what information Obama gleans from your Google, Facebook and Twitter accounts, he could be violating your Fifth Amendment rights.

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

The right against self-incrimination is so valuable, the Obama donors at Solyndra pleaded the Fifth Amendment in order to escape responsibility for absconding with a $500 billion gift from Obama. The truth is that when the government sifts through your Facebook, Twitter or Google account, they could find information that incriminates you. They seem more than willing to use that evidence against you in court.

Big Brother continues to feed on digital technology. Running amok of all restraints, the Obama regime has been caught using a Stingray device to track down people based on their cell phone. The espionage equipment will locate a phone – and presumably its owner – with precision even when the phone is not in use. Judge David G. Campbell of the U.S. District Court of Arizona has already ordered the challenge of the FBI’s use of Stingray to bust hacker Daniel David Rigmaiden can proceed.

Rigmaiden now wants the judge to order the FBI to turn over details about Stingray technology to help in him prepare his defense. As the federal government pursues the man they called “The Hacker,” it contradicts its current practice of hiring hackers. Had the FBI offered Rigmaiden a job it would not face this embarrassing court case.

Some people like Jennifer Valentino-Devries at the Wall Street Journal suggest that the Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable search and seizures cannot keep up with the times. Others believe “unreasonable” means the same thing as it did when our Founding Fathers were still alive. After all, who can say that tracking down citizens without their knowledge by following their phone is reasonable? Rigmaiden hopes to find out.

If no one puts the brakes on federal violations of the constitutional and human rights of American citizens, they will soon embed chips in our bodies and wire our brains together in a Joker-style (think Batman) social and biological neural network without our knowledge and blame it on the failure of the Constitution to keep up with technology.

Testimony suggests that the FBI knows that the way it tracked down the hacker was illegal and probably unconstitutional. After all, they failed to be completely honest with the judge who ordered the warrant.

The prosecutor, Frederick A. Battista, said the government obtained a “court order that satisfied [the] language” in the federal law on warrants. The judge then asked how an order or warrant could have been obtained without telling the judge what technology was being used. Mr. Battista said: “It was a standard practice, your honor.”

Campbell clearly feels that – had the judge granting the warrant knew about Stingray and that the FBI planned to use it against Rigmaiden – the warrant would not have been issued if the FBI were honest.

We’ll follow this case and hope that the Rigmaiden case helps re-establish constitutional rights in the United States.
