Obama gets more than his money’s worth as his ultra-wealthy supporters from the technology industry spy for him using their traps Internet apps. Lured to Google for practical Internet searches, Internet users supply Google with personal information the company uses to sell advertising, but it also furnishes information about its users directly to the Obama regime. Dittos for Facebook and Twitter.
… the vast amount of personal information that companies like Google collect to run their businesses has become simply too valuable for police and governments to ignore, delegates to the Internet Governance Forum in Nairobi said.
The disturbing trend of government intrusion worsens in light of the troubling ease with which these companies hand over information they collect to the government.
In light of recent revelations that Facebook has implanted spyware onto nearly 1 billion users’ computers, the government can find out almost anything about a Facebook user just by texting Mark Zuckerberg.
No recourse
Reuters is quick to point out that a gross lack of accountability means that the government acts without restraint. It also means that victims of this government abuse have no way to pursue their claims against the government.
While U.S. courts are obliged to publish reports on wire-tapping of telephone lines, no similar information is required to be made public with respect to the Internet — which grew up after the laws on electronic communications were passed.
Privacy advocate Christopher Soghoian says that the government now uses private firms to spy on citizens at virtually zero cost. With that kind of price tag on millions of people and zero accountability, it’s not surprising government spying has soared to unheard of levels.
What about the Constitution?
Congressman Ron Paul told the nation during a GOP debate in Florida that he would veto every bill that was unconstitutional. A stunned moderator and stunned candidates were stupefied. Somewhere deep inside most Americans is the knowledge that the Constitution of the United Stats of America doesn’t amount to a hill of beans in daily practice. However, the USA is a Constitutional Republic. That means that people have rights regardless of the illegal behavior of their government. Every time the Obama regime asks its buddies at Google, Facebook and Twitter to hand over information on American citizens, it violates the Fourth Amendment.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Does this matter? Of course it matters, especially when you are the target.
What about the Fifth Amendment?
Depending on what information Obama gleans from your Google, Facebook and Twitter accounts, he could be violating your Fifth Amendment rights.
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
The right against self-incrimination is so valuable, the Obama donors at Solyndra pleaded the Fifth Amendment in order to escape responsibility for absconding with a $500 billion gift from Obama. The truth is that when the government sifts through your Facebook, Twitter or Google account, they could find information that incriminates you. They seem more than willing to use that evidence against you in court.
